Dreamwidth is very popular for fiction, both original and fanfic. There are lots of communities for that.

If you're new here from Cohost, then you might like newcomers which is covering the shutdown and providing resources about Dreamwidth. You can introduce yourself in the Friending Meme or find your Cohost friends if you wish. These are also resources you can share with other folks riding the wave from Cohost.

That's a good idea. Try both and see which you prefer, or if you like them enough to keep both.
